Outpatient Billing and Financial Services
Many WVU Healthcare outpatient clinics are operated by WVU Hospitals (as of January 1, 2012). Patients or their insurer will receive two bills for a visit: one for professional services and a separate facility charge.
What are professional services and facility charges?
The "professional service" bill covers the medical care provided to you by a WVU doctor or another health professional. This bill will be sent by University Health Associates (UHA.)
The "facility" bill covers the cost of office space and equipment, operations, medical recordkeeping, and other services provided by the hospital to make the healthcare possible. This bill will be sent by WVU Hospitals.
