WVU Healthcare focuses on coordinated patient care

WVU Healthcare participates in the West Virginia Health Information Network (WVHIN) Health Information Exchange (HIE).  The goal of the WVHIN is to help West Virginia physicians and providers give better, more efficient care to their patients by the sharing of medical data across the state.

WVU Healthcare utilizes CareEveryWhere  to access & share data with the WVHIN, and it is also a tool that allows any healthcare facility using the Epic Health Information System across the country to have electronic access to a patient’s records for treatment purposes.

This means that where ever the patient goes, around the region or across the country, their patient information will be available to all doctors who use the Epic Health Information System — enabling safer, more coordinated patient care.
